The Uprising of Malësia 1911

On April 6, 2026, the day of the “Uprising of Malësia 1911”, an evening dedicated to this glorious event of the Malësia was held at “QIK Malësia” in Tuz.
The mayor of Tuz, Mr. Lindon Gjelaj, gave the keynote address, followed by a documentary dedicated to the Uprising. Then, parts of the original folklore from the Malësia region were also shown.
Guests of honor to entertain those present that night were Shkurte Fejza and Gresa Behluli.
The Uprising of the Malësia is one of the most important events in the history of Albania in the 20th century. It culminated with the raising the flag in Bratila of Deçiq on April 6, 1911. The supreme commander of the Uprising of Malësia was Dedë Gjon Luli, a unique personality in the national history of Albania.
